  2. Singapore does not have enough land to build a network of drains, canals, and rivers that channel rain water to reserviors in Singapore.

  3. Yes, increasing catchment areas will not only help to increase the amount of rainwater collected in a country, but also help to keep the cost of water treatment down. This is because rainwater is much cleaner than used water and does not contain salt unlike sea water. Hence, it is easier and less costly to purify.

  12. As a small island that doesn't have natural aquifers and lakes and with little land to collect rainwater, Singapore needs to maximise whatever water it can harvest. A pervasive network of drains, canals and rivers channels rainwater to Singapore's 15 reservoirs.

  19. but with more drains, if got a lot of rain, more water would be collected and it would minmise the chance of a heavy flood.

  20. I think eveyone just try to conserve water and dont anyhow waste water, Singapore will not be water-less

    ReplyDelete
  21. but with more drains, theere would be less place for anything else

  22. rain rain come again
    go away another day

  26. Buy water from Malaysia also cannot everytime buy, next time they dont want sell to us. "Bought from Johor under two bilateral agreements that expires in 2011 and 2061."

    ReplyDelete
  27. ya but still got the newater and the other one wad

    ReplyDelete
  28. We need not only buy from Malaysia. There may be other countries that are much more than willing to sell us their water in trade for our resources

    ReplyDelete
  29. i think 3 taps without the one from malaysia would be enough for spore's population if we know how to conserve and save them
