No!!!!! Malaysia keep asking for more money. Though they are our neighbour and thus convenient to transport it, in the cause of long term, it would be a waste of money.
I do not agree with Norfiqar as Singapore do not have to depend on Malaysia for water as we have four national taps: catchment, imported, reclaimed and desalinated water.
Agreements have been made between singapore and malaysia for the sales of water. Therefore, singapore has a steady supply of water for the past years. However, this agreement ends next year, therefore, singapore would have no supply of water from next year onwards. Also, the countries we purchase water from may not always have water. So, International water agreement may be a solution but is not the best wat out.
I agree with anonymous. I also think that Singapore should not continue to get water supply from Malaysia because international agreements do not last forever and singapore may be over dependent on other countries for water.
Hi, I think that Singapore should continue to get our water supply from Malaysia as we do not have that much land to build anymore water treatment plant. Desalination plants are also very expensive to maintain. Using reverse osmosis, is also a good way of getting water but we also do not have much land to build another water treatment plant. -Koh Yi Xian
i seriusly doubt tht sing' population cn survive witout importing water frm othr countries. sing' dsnt hav prblms wit importing water frm othr countries, we hav the money, and we need d water. so i thnk tht sing' shuld cntinue, lyk seriusly.
I strongly encourage Singapore to stop buying water from Malysia. We have to have more money to buy the water from Malysia. We can think of other ideas instead of relying on other countries to supply us with water. They might have not enough water to sell us too.
I think we should continue to get our water from Malaysia. We can also trade with them with something else that they need. In that way, both ways still benefits.
we shouldn't build water treatment plants, it is a waste of our land. Singapore already has so much limited space. If water treament plants are built, then there wouldn't any place for us to play anymore. :(
It is also very costly to maintain them. Honestly, I don't think Singapore is capable of owning all these at the moment. Perhaps, at a later time.
you wil nvr knw whn we wil hav a shortage of water. wht if theres lil' water in catchment areas? importd water wil save d situation. we cnt rely too much on newater and desalinatd water, as i doubt theyre a big part of d total amt of water provided.
it is true that singapore have a limited land supply .... so maybe , afterall we need to import water from other countries ... therefore international water agreements is needed.
However we can start to try to stop buying water from Malaysia. We should not give up before we try. We only depend on other countries. Malaysia have a larger population than Singapore so why must we buy from them when they already have a bigger population? They have the right to rise the price as water is very pecious from everyone on the globe. We cannot stop them from rising the price but we can stop buying water from them.
stop buying water frm them and thirst to death? face it, sing' cnt b indpendent whn it cmes to water resources. malay' cn cope, cos they hav enough water, they hav LOTS of it. why do they hav alot of people? cos they hav alot of land, alot to collect water wit. thnk abt it.
yeah, i thnk sing' shuld keep taking water frm malay'. we dun hav enough water fr ourselves anyway.
ReplyDeletewhere you yong ghee?

ReplyDeleteI agree with Dan! We might not have to depend on Malaysia for water as Singapore as an independent country can depend on ourselves!
ReplyDeletebut even d four taps wnt b enough fr d whole of sing' population, isnt it?

YA! we should
ReplyDeleteOf course:D Why is four taps not enough? The taps are not like the taps in normal household.
ReplyDeleteI do not agree with Dan as Singapore does not have much land left to build more water treatment plants.
ReplyDeleteWhy must we have more land in order to have more water supply? It wil not affect the supply of land.
ReplyDeletei seriusly doubt tht sing' population cn survive witout importing water frm othr countries.

:D,
ReplyDeleteOf course not enough luh. Singapore's population so huge. ._.
Save water (eg. Take a shower, etc.) so we do not have to buy water from Malaysia too much.
ReplyDeleteSince we have the money den we use money to get our water, such as newater and desalination. Dont keep depend on others, must be independent!!!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with u my dear lad dan!
ReplyDeleteThree Cheers for Dan!
Hmm, I think I differ in opinions.
